Seamed Britannia silver (.958) handcut headjoint, seamed Britannia silver body and footjoint, sterling silver keys, French (open hole), soldered tone holes, pointed key arms, SP-1 springs, D# roller, B footjoint

Made from a flat piece of metal that is rolled, hand planished, and then seamed, the Altus seamed tube is truly the only handmade flute tube available in modern production. There is no other flute as expressive. The player feels the vibrance of the instrument as the audience becomes captivated by its tonal beauty.

Altus Professional flutes models are distinguished by a variety of tube materials and manufacturing techniques. Standard features include the Altus/Bennett scale, exclusive SP-1 springs, drawn or soldered tone holes, soldered, French-pointed keys, hand-carved lip plates, gizmo key, and D# roller.

Headjoint Features:
Classic Cut headjoint - with it's oval shaped embouchure hole, produces a sweet sound with flexibility and penetrating projection. Renowned for producing the trademark Altus sound, the Classic cut is standard on all models.

Z-CUT - this new cut, with a more rectangular shape and minimal over and undercutting, produces a quick response without sacrificing agility. It offers full projection over the entire range of the flute and a darker more dramatic tone color.

V CUT - The newest cut from Altus is the new handcut "V" cut, which has a relatively oval embouchure hole. The lip plate has a dramatic angle at the blowing edge. It's more powerful than the Classic or Z cut, and has a gorgeous colorful sound.

C Foot, different tubing thicknesses, various riser and lip plate metal combinations and Gold & Platinum plating are available as SPECIAL ORDER ONLY options. Please contact Flute World for pricing and availability.
