America's #1 flute specialty house since 1983.
Altus Professional flutes models are distinguished by a variety of tube materials and manufacturing techniques. Standard features include the Altus/Bennett scale, exclusive SP-1 springs, drawn or soldered tone holes, soldered, French-pointed keys, hand-carved lip plates, gizmo key, and D# roller. Due to its denser material, 958 Britannia silver gives the Altus 1307 flute an increased strength of resonance. The instrument’s silvery sound obtains a slightly darker element, which thus provides the musician with a wider range of tonal modulation. Classic Cut headjoint - with it's oval shaped embouchure hole, produces a sweet sound with flexibility and penetrating projection. Renowned for producing the trademark Altus sound, the Classic cut is standard on all models.
