Born in 1947, Danish flutist Toke Lund Christiansen made his debut from the Royal Danisk Music Academy in 1968 as a soloist in Mozart’s Flute Concerto in G Major with his French teacher Marcel Moyse conducting. He then studied half a year in London with William Bennett as a teacher and since then the two kept in touch in a lifelong friendship. Serving as principal flutist with the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra for 44 years, Christiansen has also served as one of the driving forces and solo flutist of the chamber orchestra Collegium Musicum. He has recorded works from the classical repertoire by Leclair, Matthesson, Haydn, Beethoven and Schubert as well as French flute music by Ibert, Roussel and others, and serves as guest lecturer and associate professor of flute at the Royal Danish Music Academy  in Copenhagen.
