Classics of the Brazilian Choro - Ernesto Nazareth (v.1)For Flute and CD
The Choro has a very strong aural tradition, in which the music performed (not written) is passed from one musician to another. To make things ever more difficult, in general terms, the publications of Choro scores has always been very deficient in Brazil. It has been a common practice among Choro musicians to simple memorize what is heard from other musicians or recordings, playing later on that same way or sometimes introducing their own variations. Others have the custom to write down in scores what they have heard, and use those scores as their reference.
