Concerto in G composed by D. Cimarosa (1749-1801)
Arranged by Klaus Burmeister for two Flutes and Piano
Includes score and parts
Allegro-Largo-Rondo

"The few other works left by Cimarosa are not as important as the operas. Apart from some sacral music (a requiem of 1787 is worth being mentioned), some pieces of chamber music were also composed by him.  Today are known his 32 sonatas for piano, which-as pieces with one movement- remind of the sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti, but which are in no case equivalent to the latter ones.  Cimarosa also composed the present G major concerto for two flutes and orchestra of 1793.  This concerto enjoys extra-ordinarily wide popularity and up to now has been reprinted several times.  These editions, however, were charged by more or less weighing retouchings, which anyhow are to be considered as personal additions.

The present study edition of this concerto is based on the score as revised by the editor from the first print, a new scientific textual-critical publication, which supplies the interested reader with the original and genuine note text, and which by means of the accompanying editorial note informs on the corrections necessary within the note text.  But the study edition also elucidates editorial additions and supplements which seemed to be necessary according to analogous places." Burmeister (Closing Remarks)
