Differing Dialogues composed by Vincent GilesWritten for solo Bass flute with prerecorded low FlutesIncludes Score and CDDuration. 4:40The composition is all about dialogue, between instruments and lines. Of course, there are many meanings that can be gleaned from this basic premise, and part of the enjoyment of the work is that subjective interpretation. These dialogies form a context for a solo by the bass flute, which deviates in and out of the musical conversation, including some improvised dections in which listening becomes the primary focus for the performer. There are also sections of character-based improvisation, where the bass flute player must improvise in a way that indicates his or her diappointment with the other flutes not paying them any attention. - About the Music by Vincent Giles
