Quelle est cette odeur agreable? is translated to mean "Whence is that goodly fragrance flowing?"  The four measure introduction is followed by the four stanzas of the carol.  Stanza 1  is a six voice harmonization, repeated for the second stanza.  Stanza 3 is a four-voice treatment.  The fourth stanza features a five-part texture, with the alto flute presenting the melody.  A four measure Coda concludes the carol.
