Ojibway Drift(The Lake Sheen)Composed by David PattersonFor Native American Flute, Choir, and DrumPublished by JP PublicationsIncludes score and partsDuration: 3:30
Musically recounting this story, Ojibway Drift begins with the song played on the flute, an instrument Native American males took up to court their girls. Also carried over to Ojibway Drift is Burton's idea of The Lake Sheen as being "of the simplest character." Coincidence or not, the Ojibway heard the birds' calls in much the same way as we have our words "loon" and "lament" derive from the same Goth and Greek roots.
