1. Exile; Slowly, with dignity
2. Covenant; Moderato, full of life
3. Men of Quamran War Against Evil; Strident-March
4. Hymn of Thanksgiving; Joyful

Qumran is the name of the religous community that existed just a short distance from where the Arab shepherd boy discovered the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1947.

It is a forbidding area - arid, hot and bleak - where these isolated religious people lived from 125 BC to 68 DD.  The scrolls were hidden in the caves to protect them from marauding soldiers.  The first scroll discovered was a "Hymn of Thanksgiving".

It seemed to me that this momentous discovery of these historical scrolls that pre-date Christianity should be celebrated with music depicting the couragous men of Aumran who through their covenant with God frough the men of darkness and kept their faith alive.
