Sonata in C Major (K521) originally for piano in four hands composed by W.A. Mozart (1756-1791)Transcribed by Kyril Magg for two Flutes and Piano Includes score and parts"Mozart was 31 when he completed his Sonata in C Major for Piano Four Hands, K.521, on May 21, 1787. It was composed in the same two-month period as his two masterowrks for string quintet. All three of these compositions were written during his father's final illness; the four-hands sonata was completed on the day that Wolfgang learned of Leopold's death. This music employs a complete expressive palette extending from intimately delicate nuances to robust exuberance and drama. Flutists will find inspiring examples of this style in the colorful variety and rich emotional depth of Mozart's opera arias and the intricate instrumental writing of his piano concerti." -Kyril Magg
