America's #1 flute specialty house since 1983.
Jean Baptiste Lully (1632-1687), arranged by Christian Cheret and Hanna Modzelewska.
I) Air Tendre: The simple melody in the flute is carefully ornamented. The cello part augments the piano/clavecin accompaniment in a melodic manner (i.e. more than a basso continuo).II) Courante: A graceful dance; the flute and cello parts interweave and echo the melodic and rhythmic material in more of a duet fashion than the first movement.III) Sarabande: The cello is the prominent melodic voice, with the flute joining in a tuneful but secondary role.IV) Gigue: The lively dance provides both instruments with a chance to show off their technical artistry.
