Pricing
We believe in keeping our prices as low as possible, but consistent with high quality service. We promise each customer a fair price corresponding to the manufacturer's or publisher's price. However, due to conditions beyond our control (publishers' increases, foreign price fluctuations, etc.), we cannot guarantee the stability of the prices in this catalog. Prices are subject to change without notice. We cannot be responsible for notification of price changes prior to shipment, although current prices will be supplied upon request on an individual basis. Because there are Internet pricing restrictions set forth by many manufacturers, some discount prices cannot be listed online or in our printed catalog. It is advisable to call us to verify our best prices at (866) 353-5883.

Flute World is not responsible for any pricing or typographical errors, photo errors, customer computer or browser glitches when placing orders, etc.

Availability (Backorders)
We will automatically backorder any item not currently in stock unless directed otherwise. We will try to obtain these items in a reasonable length of time. The length of time it takes a backorder to come in varies according to seasonal conditions at the publishers, items indefinitely out-of-print, foreign imports, or music which must be handled by an exclusive distributor. Such situations are beyond our control, and we will attempt to notify you if such a delay occurs or is foreseen. Please notify us of any time restriction, or request whatever restrictions you find necessary. All backorders will be charged shipping.

Shipping Orders & Requests
We are at your service to obtain the items you want. We have no extra charges for this, as long as the item is published or manufactured by our regular suppliers. We also are ready to assist schools and teachers by stocking required items or reserving stock as necessary. Please contact us as soon as possible to enable us to obtain such items in the required quantities. We also will be glad to stock required selections for state and local contests and competitions upon request.

Payments
We accept Visa, Discover, MasterCard and America Express for sheet music, accessories and recordings orders. All orders are considered final. Due to wear-and-tear on sheet music, office costs, etc., we regret that no orders can be shipped out on approval.

Gift certificates can be used online if they have a 12 digit Gift Certificate code. If you are using a gift certificate marked "Must be redeemed in-store only" you will be required to mail the gift certificate back to the store in order for the gift certificate to be applied to your order. You can include the 4-digit gift certificate number and value in the comments box, but the gift certificate must then be mailed back to the store in order for the gift certificate redemption process to be complete and for you to receive the proper credit. Instrument orders - For instrument trials to our US customers, a valid credit card is required for instruments to be shipped. Instrument orders with an international shipping and/or billing address will require pre-payment by bank wire transfer only. Please email our instrument department prior to placing your order with any questions you may have.

Sales Tax
Sales tax is charged to customers placing an order with a Michigan shipping and/or billing address. Michigan state laws require that we charge a sales tax on the full amount of the order. No sales tax is charged when buying gift certificates; purchases paid for with gift certificates, however, will be charged sales tax if the billing and/or shipping address is in Michigan.

Shipping Methods: We ship via USPS, FedEx and UPS only. Instrument orders ship out via FedEx or UPS only. Next Day Air Cautionary Note: Upgrading to Next Day Air does not always mean you will get your order the next day! Once shipped, Next Day Air packages are guaranteed by the shipping company to arrive the next business day (except in extreme weather conditions or national emergencies). Please note, however, that upgrading the method of shipment to Next Day or 2nd Day Air does not change how long it takes us to assemble and ship your order; it only reduces the travel time after your order leaves our store. We will make every effort to comply with your requests.

Shipping Delays:Shipping delays may occur due to things like extreme weather (blizzards, flooding, hurricanes, etc.) or national emergencies. In these cases, they cannot guarantee delivery of Air packages. Please understand that Flute World has no control over these circumstances and cannot offer shipping refunds if your package is delayed. Please contact the shipping courier with your questions.

Saturday Delivery: For ALL shipping options - packages are delivered on business days only, Monday through Friday ONLY, EXCLUDING holidays. If you need a package delivered on a SATURDAY, it it your responsibility to inform us of this as there is an additional charge for Saturday deliveries. Your package will not be delivered on a Saturday if you have not asked for and paid for a Saturday delivery. If you would like to request a Saturday delivery, please include a note in the comment box when submitting your order. Additional Shipping Notes: Please check your order for accuracy and completeness before submitting your order! It is very important that you provide the complete and accurate shipping address for your package at the time you place your order to assure prompt delivery. This includes, but is not limited to, apartment and suite numbers, university/college names, dorm names/student housing names, etc).

Most of our ground packages are shipped via USPS. Bearing this in mind, please provide an address that your package can be delivered to. If you know that a particular courier will not ship to the address you are providing, please include a note when submitting your order. We have no way of knowing that, for example, the USPS will not deliver to a particular street address, unless we are notified by the customer. Shipping couriers charge a fee of up to $15.00 to change any shipping address once your package has left Flute World. In order to keep shipping costs down for all of our customers, any address correction fee incurred by Flute World (as a result of an incomplete or inaccurate address information provided by the customer) will be charged to that customer.

International Shipments & Customs:International shipping is available via USPS (Airmail) and UPS/FedEx (International Express). International customers are responsible for paying all customs and duties fees charged for their packages by their local customs office. These fees are NOT included in the shipping costs charged by Flute World. We recommend that you contact your local customs office for more information about possible charges prior to placing an order on our website. From our experience, Express shipments via UPS and FedEx tend to have higher fees than Airmail shipments through the USPS. Please keep this in mind when choosing your shipping option.

Heavy Items: Please note that some heavier items will be considered more than one weight unit (such as oversized music, instruments, music stands, etc.) In these cases, additional freight charges will apply and will be calculated during checkout. If you have any questions, please contact us.

U.S. Shipping for Instruments

  • There are three available shipping methods for instruments: 2nd Day Air, Next Day Air Saver and Next Day Air Priority, via FedEx or UPS.
  • This website is not tied into the FedEx/UPS shipping computers, therefore the shipping charge you see when checking out will not include insurance costs and the cost for signature requirements and is just an estimate. The actual shipping, insurance and handling charge that we re-calculate on receipt of your order will take into account the value of the package, the weight of the package, the size of the package, signature confirmation and the distance for delivery. By placing an order for an instrument on the website, you authorize Flute World to adjust the amount of the charge or hold to your credit card. If you would like to have an estimate prior to placing your order, please email our instrument department.
  • Additional shipping charges will be added when ordering more than one instrument online, or if other items are included in the order or added to the order.
  • A signature will be required on delivery - no exceptions.
  • Any packages returned as undeliverable, are refused at delivery, are returned due to lack of someone to sign for it on delivery, or that are cancelled after they have been shipped will be charged the original shipping, handling and insurance charges in addition to any return charges from the shipping courier - no exceptions. Please makes sure you provide the complete and accurate shipping address to avoid any additional charges.
  • The customer is responsible for paying all shipping and insurance costs whether the instrument(s) is purchased or returned.
  • Customer is liable for loss or damage of instruments (new or used) during the trial period.

  • All sales are final on the fourth day of the trial period. No returns, refunds or exchanges will be allowed after 4-day trial period has ended. Shipping for Instruments

  • The only shipping option available for instrument orders being shipped to other countries is FedEx International Expressp.
  • This website is not tied into the FedEx shipping computers, therefore the shipping charge you see when checking out will not include insurance costs and the cost for signature requirements and is just an estimate.   • We regret that due to worldwide credit card fraud issues, we cannot accept any international credit cards unless they participate in the North American Address Verification System (AVS). You are welcome to place your order online, but you will be contacted by our instrument department to arrange alternate payment via bank wire transfer. Customer is responsible for all banking fees.
  • All international instrument sales are considered final sales and we regret that we cannot accept any returns, exchanges or refunds.
  • Any packages returned from your country's customs department will incur fees, including original shipping and insurance charges, any customs fees that we are forced to pay due to refusal to accept the package on the customer's end, return shipping and insurance charges, and in some extreme cases, the cost of the instrument.
  • We highly recommend that you contact our instrument department at flutes@fluteworld.com prior to placing any international instrument order online.

 

Flute World Return Policy
Sheet Music & Accessory Returns: Returns on sheet music and accessories are not accepted without prior authorization. Customers must contact the store to obtain return authorization. A return authorization request must specify order number, customer name, return authorization name, and reason for return. All merchandise must be returned within 10 days of receipt, undamaged and prepaid. Returns may incur a restocking charge of 10% to 25%. Credits will be issued to the credit card specified by the customer. Music supplied in error (our mistakes in filling or duplicating) are returnable. Please fill in the return slip completely to avoid restocking charges. Defective music (printing errors) will be exchanged for exact replacement upon return of the original shipment. If UPS or another carrier has damaged your shipment, please save all wrappings and contact your local carrier. YOU must file a claim with your local carrier, not Flute World. Please DO NOT send the damaged package back to us, since the claim must be made by you, the receiver. Please complete all requests for exchange or return within 10 days of the invoice date.

Recordings:
Recordings cannot be returned at any time and can only be exchanged if they are defective. Please see the above policy regarding return procedures.

Instrument Policy: Instruments are only available on a 4-day trial basis (US Customers), and cannot be returned after the period for any reason. Please call the Instrument Department at 866-35-FLUTE for further details on the Trial policies. Once an instrument sale has been completed, it cannot be returned for any reason. International instrument sales are final.

Instrument Trials
Flute World
does not expect customers to purchase a flute without play-testing it first. As a convenience to our customers we offer a Free 4 day trial. Do not fall for "Free Shipping" traps (final sale/no return policy) from other companies that do not offer the advantage of an automatic trial before purchase.

Unlike other flute vendors, our US and Canadian customers are able to place trial flute orders on our website! We are also one of the only companies that do not charge any trial fees!

How our trial policy works:

  • We offer a 4-day trial period for our US and Canadian customers, which starts the day the package is received.
  • A maximum of 2 instruments can be sent out at a time.
  • Instruments are shipped via UPS or FedEx 2nd Day Air, signature required.
  • A valid U.S. or Canadian bank-issued credit card is required and a hold will be placed for the entire amount of the instruments, plus shipping and insurance costs. Orders will be shipped once billing information is verified. Your bank must participate in the AVS (Address Verification System) to be accepted.
  • It is the customer's responsibility to contact Flute World by the last day of the trial with their decision.
  • If an instrument is being returned, it must be in transit back to Flute World by the end of the last day of the trial.
  • Failure to contact Flute World means that the customer acknowledges that the instrument(s) is/are a final sale.
  • Customers are responsible for all shipping and insurance charges both ways.
  • Customer is liable for any loss or damage incurred while instruments are in their possession.
  • Instruments must be returned in the same condition as when they were received and must include all additional items, such as cleaning rod, case cover, plugs and cleaning cloths, etc.

Shipping costs calculated on the website at the time orders are placed are merely estimates, and will be adjusted accordingly once your order is received in the store based on destination zip code, package weight, values of the instruments being shipped and shipping insurance costs. By placing an order for an instrument on the website, you authorize Flute World to adjust the amount of the charge or hold to your credit card.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer trial periods on instruments shipped to countries other than the US or Canada. Any international instrument order must be pre-paid via bank wire transfer. For more information, please contact the Flute World Instrument Department at flutes@fluteworld.com prior to placing an order online.

Consignment Services
Our consignment sales service offers the opportunity to have us sell your used professional-level C flute, Piccolo, Alto Flute, Bass Flute or C Flute Headjoint.

We require the owner to send their instrument to Flute World for repair evaluation and pricing. We regret that due to many factors, we cannot quote resale pricing over the phone without seeing the instrument in person. After estimating the resale value of the instrument, we will contact the owner with a suggested selling price. If the instrument requires repairs, the repairs will need to be taken care of before the instrument is listed. Flute World must have the owner's approval of the selling price prior to listing the flute for sale.

We require a non-refundable fee of $45 USD per instrument. A 20% commission will be deducted from the final selling price of each instrument. When an instrument is sold, you will receive payment in US dollars approximately 3-4 weeks later.

Please do not send your instrument(s) to us before contacting us first! We regret that we are not able to take in every instrument on consignment. Please make sure that you contact us to get approval to list your flute with us before spending the money on shipping it to us. Instruments sent to us for consignment without obtaining prior permission will be returned to the owner at the owner's expense.

Due to custom issues with other countries, we are only able to accept consignments from customers in the United States at this time.
