2 Trios, Opus 27 composed by Luigi Gianella (1778-1817)Edited by Albrecht Imbescheid for 3 FlutesIncludes PARTS ONLYIn Luigi Gianella we find one of the indeed most prolific composers of music for the flute of his time. He provided this instrument with an abundance of works in all imaginable combinations with other instruments. Only fragments of information are known about Luigi Fianella (also called Ludovico or Louis). Where and when he was born is unknown. Until 1800, he lived in Milan, where he was flutist at the Scala. In that year, he moved to Paris where he was evidently mainly active as composer (he completed his first opera in 1803). He died in Paris 1817. Four flute trios by Gianella are known of: the two Op.27 presented here, and Op. 35 and Op. 45. -Preface by Albrecht Imbescheid
