Four wassails arranged into a single suite: Somerset Wassail, Gloucestershire Wassail, Leeds Wassail, Yorkshire (or traditional) Wassail

To go wassailing was a tradition in viritually every English village.  The Villagers used to go out singing, carrying their Wassail bowl.  Within their song was a request for their Wassail bowl to be filled with aile, and in return they would wish good health upon the household.  In Olde English, the word wassail means be healthy.  The tradition of wassailing is probably is probably older than Christianity and has been adapted into modern celebrations.
