A French educator and composer of the 20th Century, he taught solfege and counterpoint et fugue section at the Paris Conservatory. He wrote a large amount of small vocal and instrumental music as test pieces. The bassoon does have tenor and bass clef changes within each of the three movements. The first movement begins with a quasi cadenza in the bassoon part, which occurs later in the third movement. Each movement could be performed separately, and each part is also equal in its share of the melody. |
