An Appalachian Suite by Michael Braz
Scored for Piccolo, 4 C Flutes, Alto Flute and Bass Flute
For Flute Choir - An Appalachian Suite was commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Wildacres Flute Retreat in the mountains of North Carolina. Rather than restating existing Appalachian folk material within its three movements, this composition seeks to reflect the daily camaraderie of the camp's participants and staff in such an idyllic setting.
