Divertimento II in G Major composed by Joseph Haydn (1732-1809)
Edited by Elisabeth Weinzierl and Edmund Wachter for 3 Flutes
Includes score and parts

Arrangements, pirate editions, forgeries: during the 18th century these were a proof of the popularity and wide recognition enjoyed bby a composer.  The work of Joseph Haydn is a particularly good example.  And the flute, especially popular in amateur circles, was included in some of the countless transcriptions of his works, done either during his lifetime or shortly afterwards. Although no autographs are extant, and early copies and editions give different scorings, the present Divertimenti were probably written originally for baryton, viola, and bass.

Contents:
Allegretto with three variations
Menuetto with Trio and Allegro.

All three parts are equal, and the theme is interwoven during all of the movements.  This can be performed as individual movements, or as a complete piece.  The Hoboken catalog number for this piece is Hob. XI, number 116.
