from A German Requiem
Composed by Johannes Brahms (1833-1897)
Transcribed by Martha Rearick

Instrumentation:
5 C Flutes, 2 Alto Flutes, 2 Bass Flutes, and a Contrabass Flute

Arrangement commissioned by Nancy L. Spidel for the 2005 NFA High School Flute Choir. Originally for 4-part chorus & orchestra, this arrangement achieves a full orchestral texture, while bringing out the intertwining melodic lines of the chorus--very rich, lush sound throughout.
