A Heart for New York Op.78 for Solo Flute by Ivan Shekov
Another composition in the series of “Classics United Music against Terrorism and Violence”
This composition is an expression of horror at this crime against humanity (September 11, 2001), of deep concern of sympathy with the victims. It is also an expression of optimism, however, that ultimately good will prevail. A choral theme intended as a prayer for the victims of violence, it is at the same time a prayer for a world without violence.
