Description
Amazing Grace arranged for Flute and Piano by Rich Heffler
The words for this famous hymn was written for a sermon on New Year's Day of 1773 by clergyman John Newton, but there is no indication of the tune that was used that day. The music that is the most familiar to these words is the tune “New Britain”, and William Walker, in 1835, assigned the lyrics to this music. The flute carries the melody in this version of the hymn, along with the fanfare flourishes as the piece modulates between the verses to a new key.
