Celebration by David Coakley

Celebration was originally the fifth and final movement of Divertimento for Violins and Cellos. This work was a commission for a Suzuki string program in Paris, France. The robust nature of this movement lends itself well to a flute ensemble.
Full of rhythmic and melodic interest, this technical and showy original piece is a fantastic addition to the repertoire for flute ensemble. The tuneful melody is passed throughout the ensemble and all players have a section of melody.
The sixteenths should be flourishes driving to the top most pitch in the run.
