Description
for flute, oboe, clarinet, and bassoon
by Howard J. Buss (b. 1951)- American composer
This arrangement of Dry Bones, the well-known African American spiritual makes a wonderful concert feature as well as a rousing musical offering in church. Although written as a quartet, multiple players may be used on each part to expand the ensemble. This version of the work is hugely influence by jazz; however, the rhythms are intended to be played literally, not swung. The music should be performed in a deliberate fashion and with jubilant spirit.
