Description
Fantasia on “La Traviata” by Verdi for Flute and Piano by Paolo Taballione
Duration: 16:00
Partly a reworking of two Fantasies (Bazzini’s “Fantasia on the Traviata’s Themes, Op.50” for violin and Genin’s “Fantasie sur La Traviata, Op.18 for flute and piano) and partly an original composition by flutist Paolo Taballione, the aim of this work is to give the transverse flute repertoire a more extensive fantasy on La Traviata compared to those already present in the transverse flute’s literature: a review of the work, perhaps less inclined to the virtuosic aspect for its own sake, but more brought to that beautiful song that has made Giuseppe Verdi and the famous Italian opera school in the world.
