“Max Meyer-Olbersleben's Fantaisie for Flote and Clavier (flute and piano) is a powerful, moving work. It has long been popular with flutists in Europe and Japan, but is a relatively unknown composition at this time in the United States. I have reconstructed a German publication from the 1800's for this printing. Since the musical terms are primarily in German, I have provided a glossary of terms in the back of the piano part taken from another centry-old publication by the German flutist, Emil Prill. This is a substantial piece to add to one's repertoire and the performer will find it technically challenging as well as musically rewarding.” — Ervin Monroe
