Description

A German composer and cellist, he was also one of the founders of the Mannheim School with Johann Stamitz and Richter.  This piece was first published in Paris in 1779.  Filtz's devotion to the cello is evidenced by the way he uses the obligato cello as a full duo partner to the flute.  The two sonatas are both short, and have two movements.
