Acoustic Version for Four Flutes and Alto Flute
Published by Carl Fischer
Includes score and parts
Program Notes:
“Flock was inspired by minimalist composer Steve Reich's Vermont Counterpoint, a tour de force for multiple flutes. The flutes in Flock represent the flight pattern of a flurry of birds, which move in and out of chaos, harmony and tight togetherness. The polyrhythms and accents throughout the multiple flute lines create an energetic atmosphere that is central to conveying a synchronized flock of birds. The original version of Flock includes electronics and drums and can be heard on Flutronix's sophomore album, 2.0. This acoustic version for four concert flutes and alto flute can be heard on Flutronix's EP, City of Breath.”
