A modern Swedish composer, he is also a bassoonist, teacher and conductor. A suite of four pieces, each one depicting one of the four basic elements. Air is a beautiful soaring melody, Fire is a passionate tango, Water is a languid movement exploring the low range of the flute, and Earth is a stomping melody based on the Swedish folk song Hargalaten. It explores the full range of the flute, and adds exciting flourishes to its challenging parts.
