Description
From the World of Ragtime
For Piccolo and Piano
Arranged by Laurence Trott and Claudia Hoca
Duration: 8:30
The ragtime revolution of the 1890's has left us with a rich legacy. In looking for music to arrange for piccolo, I sought to look beyond the currently popular Scott Joplin “classic rags” to some of the delightful, lesser known pieces of the time. The early rag, One O' Them Things may be the first instance of a scored twelve bar blues oatter, and Whoa! Nellie! is a fine example of a latter day rag. The beautiful, naive innocence of Bink's Waltz is a side of Joplin not apparent to those who only know a few of his most popular rags.
