For Flute, Trombone and Piano
Includes three performance scores
“In composing this piece, I could not resist the urge to depict a love affair between the two wind instruments… The relationship begins with each asserting its own identity: the trombone announching the pitches G and B, and the flute responding with a C over a three-octave span. The flirtation between the two begins tentatively but gradually develops into several frenzied encounters which are refereed by the piano. This activity leads to an ecstatic climax wherein the pianist retires, leaving the exhausted duo to bask in their restful gestures of fusion.” -F.T.
