Glorious Things of Thee are Spoken,
Arranged by Rich Heffler based on Haydn's Quartet Op76 #3
Includes score (in the key of Bb) and the parts listed below.
This series of Trios has been written to utilize every possible combination of three Woodwind or Strings instruments (including saxes and horns). The score is in Bb. Be careful to avoid instruments playing parts in the wrong register. Parts marked “8va” are written an octave higher than the score. The combinations that sound best are indicated below:
PART 1 – flute, oboe, violin, clarinet or alto saxophone
PART 2 – clarinet, horn, viola or tenor saxophone
PART 3 – cello, bassoon, bass clarinet or baritone saxophone
PART 1 8va – flute, oboe or violin
PART 2 8va – flute, oboe, violin or clarinet
PART 3 8va – clarinet, viola, horn or alto saxophone
Many other combinations are possible, like two flute and cello; flute violin and bassoon; etc. This Trio will not sound well for three similar instruments, such as three flutes or three clarinets.
