Editor Matanya Ophee knows that Hummel wrote quite a bit more music than just a concerto for trumpet, and the music world is finding that to be true, more and more. A student of both Mozart and Haydn, Hummel inhabited the world of Beethoven, Liszt, Schubert, and Schumann, eventually becoming a collaborator with famed guitarist Mauro Giuliani, both in composition and performance. Ophee's critical edition of the Grande Sérénade en Potpourri is thoroughly researched and edited for better performance in alternate parts. The set of parts includes solo parts with included alternates, with score sold separately.
