Greensleeves (Traditional to Jazz) arranged by Victoria Jicha for 3 C Flutes and Bass Flute
Includes alternate Alto Flute part to take the place of Flute 3
Includes score and parts
Starting with a plainchant feel and ending with a touch of jazz, this arrangement works for all occasions. Scored for 2 or 3 C flutes, alto, and bass. NFA Newly Published Music Honorable Mention 2001. This arrangement was written specifically for a performing flute quartet of 2 C flutes, alto and bass. The flute 3 part duplicates the alto flute part, and therefore enhances the alto line. In the introduction of this piece, the alto and bass flutes are in parallel fifths, and are imitating the sound of plainchant. As the piece continues, the harmonies change from the traditional to a jazzy rendition that allows the flutists to swing the sixteenth notes.
