Juba Dance is the fifth and final movement of the work In the Bottoms – Characteristic Suite for the Piano by African American composer R. Nathaniel Dett. Originally entitled Dance (Juba), it is the most famous movement of the suite and has survived on its own, and continues to be performed, as a piano recital piece.
Juba Dance has a ragtime format and feel to it, and thus should be similarly performed, i.e. it should be played straight, not swung.
