From the Preface:
Humming birds are the smallest birds in the world, their plumage gleaming with shimmering colours. Emil Kronke may have had this image in mind when he composed this varied and colourful collection for very young flautists. Let us hope that these “Humming Birds” will fly on into the next generation to be played and enjoyed by imaginative young musicians.
