The Modon by Christopher Caliendo
Arrnaged for two flutes and guitar
Includes score and parts
The place called Little Egypt in Greece, (Modon), is where the Gypsy traditions were revived. The common Greek man sitting in the streets may well have been attracted to these colorfully dressed dark-skinned natives who wore kohl around their eyes like ancient Egyptians. This music impressionistically supports an outdoor market in Greece where native Greeks are having their fortune told by visiting Gypsies.
