Description
Monochrome V, composed by Peter Schickele
Monochrome means “one color,” and each of the pieces in Schickele's series is written for a multiple number of a single kind of instrument. Each 'Monochrome' explores a variety of harmonic, rhythmic, melodic and timbral textures. This is a companion piece to 'Monochrome I' and mirrors its structure. The 'slow – fast- slow' of Monochrome I becomes 'fast – slow – fast' in Monochrome V.
Additional program and performance notes by the composer are included in the score.
Scored for 8 C Flutes (flutes 2, 3 and 4 double on piccolo)
