Description
Praise the Lord With Flutes Op 101
Composed by by Sigfrid Karg-Elert (1879 – 1933)
for Flute Choir
Arranged by Robert Cathey
Published by Falls House Press
Includes score and parts
This work was originally written for pipe organ. The composer notes it to be “Alla Handel” (in the style of Handel). The C flutes often echo each other as they move rapidly in parallel thirds, and the alto and bass flutes parts provide contrasting depth of color and sound. The mood is joyous and light, and it is perfect for a wedding recessional.
It is scored for 4C flutes (one on optional piccolo), alto flute, and bass flute. (An alternate C flute part is provided if no alto flute is available.)
