Rattle and Clack for 4 C Flutes by John Savage
All 4 flutes play off of one provided score.
Parts 1, 2 and 4 require flutes with a low B footjoint. Part 3 can be played on a C footjoint. Open or closed hole flutes may be used. Rattle and Clack is written for flutes in C. Bass flutes can be used, but not the piccolo. If only one bass flute is used, it may be preferable to have it play the 4th part. Rattle and Clack can be played as a quartet, or with multiple players evenly distributed on the parts. Amplification is optional, but not necessary. Non-traditional fingerings are written below the note to which they apply. Dynamics are relative to the sound of each particular percussive technique. Each technique should be performed with as full a resonance as possible.
