Charles Marie Widor's Suite for Flute and Piano, Op34, was composed in 1898 and dedicated to Paul Taffanel, 1844-1908, flutist, conductor, and founder of the modern French school of flute playing. The middle two movements (2, Scherzo and 3, Romance) are frequently played in reverse order without the first and fourth movements.
