Rue Traversiere 3 (The Flute Way Vol.3) by Sophie Dufeutrelle
A fun and innovative approach to Taffanel and Gaubert's Daily Exercises.
“Rue Traversiere 3” is a “toolbox” for flutists of today who continue to work this essential book. The exercise around “17 Daily Exercises of Mechanism” concern tone, breathing, phrasing, tonguing, and of course, mechanism! — S.Dufeutrell
Sophie Dufeutrelle studied the flute with Fernand Caratgé at the École Normale de Musique in Paris (Concert Diploma) and with Pierre-Yves Artaud. In 1980 she was appointed flute teacher at the École Nationale de Musique in Villeurbanne. Her interests extend to highly diverse musical worlds, including those of early and contemporary music, traditional South American music, choral and instrumental ensemble conducting and playing percussion. She has been involved in many discographic recordings, concerts, live spectacles and music theatre works. She composes for various formations in which the flute retains a special position, and her teaching works, regularly used in conservatories and music schools, show the originality of an approach that places quality and musical pleasure at the forefront of her investigations. At the request of the Cité de la Musique in Paris, she co-wrote 10 ans avec la flûte (2003) with Philippe Bernold and Annie Ploquin-Rignol. She has published eleven teaching works with Notissimo/Leduc.
