Siman Tov V' Mazel Tov is a traditional Jewish song with roots in the 19th century Ashkenazi community of Eastern Europe. Commonly heard at weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, and other festive occasions, its joyous mood is evocative of a party in full swing.
The lyrics are roughly translated as “Good signs and good luck will come to us”. Throughout this lively arrangement for wind quintet, the melody gets perpetually tossed around the group, so everyone gets a chance to be the life of the party, even if only for a few bars.
The repeat is optional to extend time if needed.
