Sonata for Three
Composed by Quantz
Written for 3 Flutes
Edited and Arranged by Robert Salkeld
Published by Schott
Born in 1697, he became known as the most famous flutist in Europe. Quantz also became a flute teacher, composer and flute maker to the court of Frederick the Great of Prussia in 1740. This trio has several small movements, which are Vivace, Largo, Riguadon, Menuett and Vivace. This is the same as the Trio in D, just transposed into the key of F. Each of the three flutes are alternately the foundation and the soloist, which is one of the chief challenges of this trio.
