Friedrich Wilhelm Heinrich Benda (1745-1814), son of the leader of the Royal Prussian court orchestra Franz Benda, was employed as a violinist in the court orchestra and was also featured there as a composer. Reichardt wrote about him: 'His compositions bear witness to his skill, industry and inventiveness. He merits our admiration as a player of the Clavier and as a composer.'
