Sonate for Flute and Piano by Marianne Stoll
I. Mäßig schnell
German composer Marianne Stoll (b.1911) began her music studies with the main emphasis on piano, with flute as her secondary instrument. After training to be a music teacher she studied church music. Her composition teachers were Johann Nepomuk David and Gunther Raphael. This piece allows the player to indulge in the pleasure of flute-playing. At the same time it is a contribution to contemporary music. Technically not too difficult.
