Preface:
Along with my own tango compositions, Tango Passion presents a series of arrangements of the most famous Argentinian tango classics that demonstrate how musically and technically varied the genre is. Two highly constrasting statements from Enrique Santos Discepolo (1901-1951) and Jorge Luis Borges (1899-1986) show the enormous breadth of the tango. Discepolo characterises the tango as a 'sad thought that you dance', while Borges says that, 'in the past, the tango was an orgiastic devilry. Today, it is a way of striding'.
Let yourself be inspired by the liveliness and diversity of these tangos and enjoy this deeply-felt music. Have fun! – Diego Collatti, May 2016
