A French composer of the 20th century, he studied composition, conducting and violin a the Paris Conservatoire. He is particularly noted for his wind writing, and his chamber music for winds shows great familiarity with the abilities of the instruments. He often demanded a great deal of technical skill, without losing the expressive, melodic style typical of 20th century French chamber music. The three pieces are Capriccioso fantastico, Calme and Allegro vivo. Each movement can be performed separately, or combined to make a new piece.
