This work was composed by Richard Leibert. He was the chief organist at the Radio City Music Hall in the middle of the last century. He arranged and composed many works for theatre organ. Some of his earliest compositions date from 1928 about the time radio was beginning to be a form of home entertainment. He was credited for compositions used in soaps on television in the 1950s. This particular work is frequently performed in organ concerts at Christmas time. It is a short whimsical piece. It is scored for piccolo, three C flutes, alto, bass and contra. The contra is optional. A cello part is included to cover the contra part.
