We accept Visa, Discover, MasterCard and America Express for sheet music, accessories and recordings orders. All orders are considered final. Due to wear-and-tear on sheet music, office costs, etc., we regret that no orders can be shipped out on approval.

Gift certificates can be used online if they have a 12 digit Gift Certificate code.  If you are using a gift certificate marked “Must be redeemed in-store only” you will be required to mail the gift certificate back to the store in order for the gift certificate to be applied to your order.  You can include the 4-digit gift certificate number and value in the comments box, but the gift certificate must then be mailed back to the store in order for the gift certificate redemption process to be complete and for you to receive the proper credit. Instrument orders – For instrument trials to our US customers, a valid credit card is required for instruments to be shipped.  Instrument orders with an international shipping and/or billing address will require pre-payment by bank wire transfer only.  Please email our instrument department prior to placing your order with any questions you may have.

Sales Tax
Sales tax is charged to customers placing an order with a Michigan or North Carolina (also Minnesota through August 2018) shipping and/or billing address. State laws require that we charge a sales tax on the full amount of the order. No sales tax is charged when buying gift certificates; purchases paid for with gift certificates, however, will be charged sales tax if the billing and/or shipping address is in Michigan or North Carolina (also Minnesota through August 2018). Sales tax will be added to the order at the time the order is placed.

Sales tax is charged to customers placing an order with a Colorado shipping and/or billing address. Sales tax will be added to the order when the order is processed in the store and will not be automatically added during checkout.

Print Music Discounts
Flute World now offers all of its customers discounts on all print music.  Your 10% off discount is reflected on your shopping cart price.

All items on our periodic sale (specials) are given special discounts and are not subject to additional discounts. However, they will count in the discount category (above) given to the order items on the same order.

We believe in keeping our prices as low as possible, but consistent with high quality service. We promise each customer a fair price corresponding to the manufacturer’s or publisher’s price. However, due to conditions beyond our control (publishers’ increases, foreign price fluctuations, etc.), we cannot guarantee the stability of the prices in this catalog. Prices are subject to change without notice. We cannot be responsible for notification of price changes prior to shipment, although current prices will be supplied upon request on an individual basis.  Because there are Internet pricing restrictions set forth by many manufacturers, some discount prices cannot be listed online or in our printed catalog.  It is advisable to call us to verify our best prices at (248) 855-0410.

Availability (Backorders)
We will automatically backorder any item not currently in stock unless directed otherwise. We will try to obtain these items in a reasonable length of time. The length of time it takes a backorder to come in varies according to seasonal conditions at the publishers, items indefinitely out-of-print, foreign imports, or music which must be handled by an exclusive distributor. Such situations are beyond our control, and we will attempt to notify you if such a delay occurs or is foreseen. Please notify us of any time restriction, or request whatever restrictions you find necessary. All backorders will be charged shipping.

Shipping Orders & Requests
We are at your service to obtain the items you want. We have no extra charges for this, as long as the item is published or manufactured by our regular suppliers. We also are ready to assist schools and teachers by stocking required items or reserving stock as necessary. Please contact us as soon as possible to enable us to obtain such items in the required quantities. We also will be glad to stock required selections for state and local contests and competitions upon request.

Flute World Return Policy

Sheet Music & Accessory Returns: Returns on sheet music and accessories are not accepted without prior authorization.  Customers must contact the store to obtain return authorization. A return authorization request must specify order number, customer name, return authorization name, and reason for return. All merchandise must be returned within 10 days of receipt, undamaged and prepaid at customer expense. Returns may incur a restocking charge of 10% to 25%. Credits will be issued to the credit card specified by the customer. Music supplied in error (our mistakes in filling or duplicating) are returnable.  Defective music (printing errors) will be exchanged for exact replacement upon return of the original shipment. If UPS or another carrier has damaged your shipment, please save all wrappings and contact your local carrier. YOU must file a claim with your local carrier, not Flute World. Please DO NOT send the damaged package back to us, since the claim must be made by you, the receiver. Please complete all requests for exchange or return within 10 days of the invoice date.

Recorded Media (Recordings/DVDs/Tapes/USB Cards): These items cannot be returned at any time and can only be exchanged if they are defective. Please see the above policy regarding return procedures.

Digital Downloads:Due to the nature of digital downloads, we are unable to issue refunds if the wrong item is purchased.  Sample pages of each digital download are available for you to review prior to adding the download(s) to your cart. Please review the sample page(s) provided before completing your order.

Instrument Policy: Once an instrument sale has been completed, instrument purchases are not eligible for a refund. Exchanges can be made for items of equal or greater value for up to 15 days from the invoice date. International instrument sales are final.
