Beatbox Flute Method Book Volume 1

From the Introduction:
“Anyone can learn to beatbox on their flute, and this book was conceived to be a guide on that journey. For any quality skill-building enterprise it is important to have both short and long-term goals, as well as a method or structure with which to apply these goals. It is not enough to just learn some sounds and how to do them on the flute; one needs etudes to practice, works that can serve as building blocks as one’s skills develop, and bits and pieces that, once learned, can be combined together to make great music.
“This book covers five elements: learning basic beatbox sounds, combining them with the flute, using combinations of beatbox sounds to create patterns to play over, establishing a means of building beatbox patterns for flute melodies, and creating melodies or phrases to play over existing beatbox beats.
“It is my hope that you use this book as a springboard into daily musical creativity and exploration. Not only should you learn everything this book has to offer, you should take these concepts and use them to create your own beatbox flute music. This is in part why I have used so many “vamps” in this book: instead of only learning what’s written, the idea is to take the elemental structure and apply it to your own musical ideas. As your skills grow, you can come back to the same vamps over and over, making them more complicated by building up different rhythms and changing the pitches that you play to create new phrases…”
