Flute Technician – Full Time: San Francisco, CA

Flute World is looking for skilled flute technicians to join the team at our new San Francisco location as well as our flagship store in Michigan. Flutists (as well as all musicians!) are discriminating about the quality and care of their instruments, and we’re looking for colleagues who will bring that level of passion and detail to the set-up, maintenance, and repair of our client’s instruments.

Responsibilities:

  • Service instruments to the highest standards
  • Assess instruments and provide client estimates
  • Successfully and efficiently troubleshoot and complete repair work
  • Perform COA (Clean, Oil, Adjust) services and Mechanical Restorations
  • Maintain store stock
  • Inspect new inventory
  • Prepare instruments for trials, appointments, and shows
  • Evaluate pre-owned instruments for potential consignment/inventory purchases
  • Maintain an organized and clean work space

Requirements:

  • 2 to 3 years experience in flute repair
  • Ability to perform basic play test on flute and piccolo
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Ability to interact with clients in a friendly manner
  • Strong curiosity and desire to learn
  • Able to organize and problem solve
  • Ability to perform at the highest level with strong commitment to craft and detail

Flute Sales Executive: Full Time Position – Detroit Location

Purpose:
To drive instrument sales by connecting with the flute community and broadening our network of performers, teachers and students.

Responsibilities:

  • Expand client base
  • Maintain phone and email contact with clients
  • Lead individualized in-store appointments to assist clients in choosing an appropriate instrument
  • Work with flutists via phone/skype to set up in-home trials
  • Process instrument web orders
  • Coordinate and attend regional and national trade shows
  • Process financing applications and invoice instrument sales
  • Contribute to social media and email marketing
  • Play test new flute inventory and flute repairs
  • Research market value of used instruments and process consignments
  • Uphold the core values of our company

Skills/Attributes Required:

  • Minimum of 1 year sales experience required
  • Musical background
  • Strong communication skills via phone, email, and in person
  • Positive, results oriented personality
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Weekend hours required
